The slightly sweet blueberry is a dark red to purple fruit that is characterized by its richness in vitamins such as vitamin K, trace elements and mineral salts. In fact, this small fruit contains significant amounts of magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc or even vanadium. Blueberries come from the blueberry tree, a shrub in the Ericaceae family, and are tasty and low in calories. To harvest blueberries, you can learn how to plant the bush at home.

In various sweet preparations such as pies, muffins or juices, blueberries retain their flavor while providing a variety of benefits to the body. The blueberry: distinguish two types

There are two types of blueberries:

  • The   Vaccinium myrtillus  , a wild blueberry that grows between 20 and 50 cm high and has evergreen leaves. The latter is generally grown in heathland areas on the moors or in forests and clearings.
  • Vaccinium corymbosum  , a 1.5 to 2 meter tall shrubby blueberry that can be easily grown in pots, in garden soil or in the vegetable patch.

Clusters of white bells appear on the bush from May.

In summer the berries appear   and ripen for consumption  . Some blueberry trees are self-pollinating and you can easily plant them to fruit.
