Cleaning the bathroom is one of the most hated and complicated household chores, since the lime and mold are not easy to remove. Try these effective tricks to effortlessly remove black mold around the toilet without using harsh chemicals.
Before being cleaned, the surfaces of a common bathroom could have at least 2 types of bacteria, but some areas, up to 8 , identifying some harmless and others harmful, such as Salmonella and E. Coli.
In the case of the toilet, you can find micrococci, staphylococci, streptococci, but also mold, hence the recommendation to clean the bathroom regularly.

Although it is more common to find mold in the shower or in the corners of the bathroom, the toilet is not saved, due to the humidity, the heat and, above all, because it is a difficult area to clean. Fortunately, removing mold around the toilet is not impossible. Let’s see how to do it!
baking soda and vinegar
This duo is almost invincible against bacteria, dirt and even mold. Vinegar has been attributed a disinfectant capacity, while baking soda is a powerful detergent, antifungal and antimicrobial . To remove mold around the toilet, do the following:
- Pour a cup of vinegar into the toilet bowl and another cup into the flush tank.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the edges around the bowl (inside, outside, and at the base of the toilet). Leave for an hour.
- Open the lid and scrub the inside with the brush, as well as the entire surface, edges and base.
- Wait another 15 minutes and flush the toilet. Wipe all surfaces with a cloth dampened with vinegar to clean the surface.
- To keep your toilet clean and mold-free, add 1 cup of vinegar to the tank 2 or 3 times a week and then flush the toilet. For the base, every month wipe it with a cloth moistened with vinegar and then rinse.
