One thing is certain, baking soda is an effective stain remover against stubborn stains. However, other natural remedies can also bring the desired whiteness to your pillow.

– White vinegar to remove stains from the pillow

White vinegar

White vinegar is one of the best natural stain removers. It is a great product for removing stubborn stains. We recommend washing the cushions with this product which will make them look like new. To do this, simply mix a large cup of  white vinegar and a few drops of essential oils in a large  container filled with water. The acetic acid in white vinegar gently cleans the fabric without damaging it. You can also dissolve a cup of soda crystals in a large basin of water and add a cup of lye powder and a cup of white vinegar. Then dip the pillow in this mixture and leave it on overnight. The next day, throw the pillow in the washing machine and you’re done!

– Lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide to clean the pillow

Lemon juice is a terrific whitening agent. Known for its disinfectant and deodorizing properties, it restores a vibrant color to your white pillows while leaving a sweet lemon scent. All you have to do is squeeze a few lemons and pour the juice into a bowl of hot water. You can also pour the lemon directly into the machine by mixing it with a small amount of hydrogen peroxide. Finally, let the pillow dry in the sun for extra whiteness.

Furthermore, to properly maintain the pillow, it is recommended to clean it  every 6 months,  yellowed or not.

All these grandma tricks allow you to get rid of yellow stains from your pillow using natural products. If your pillow is more than three years old, it is advisable to change it rather than worry about bleaching it!
