Vinegar is one of the most used products in our kitchens, however, it is not only an excellent condiment for dishes and salads. Vinegar has excellent disinfectant properties and is capable of cleaning many types of surfaces without damaging them.
Below we list all the types of vinegar , their uses and explain how to use this excellent product for household cleaning. You’ll be surprised how much you can clean with vinegar!
Before we begin, we list the most common types of vinegar and those that are most effective for cleaning.
Apple cider vinegar . It comes from the fermentation of cider and can be used as a cleaning product. It is most effective when combined with products such as baking soda or lemon juice.
Red wine vinegar . It comes from the fermentation of wine and is not suitable for household cleaning.
Rice vinegar . Used in oriental cuisines, it has a less aggressive taste and is not recommended for cleaning.
White vinegar . It is the most common type of vinegar and also the most suitable for household cleaning, since it is more acidic than the others.
Remember that there is a difference between white vinegar and white wine vinegar : the first has an acidity of 8%, while the second has one which oscillates between 3 and 5%. For household cleaning, we suggest using white vinegar.
