How to remove white patina from glasses and make them shine again

Over time, glass lenses acquire a dull tint or whitish spots due to limescale present in the water. The first option is to throw them away, stop using them or throw them away, but this is not required.

Before buying new glasses, try removing the white patina and restoring their original shine with the economical and ecological methods we offer below.

Although the presence of limescale in the water we use to wash glasses is the main cause of the formation of this white patina , other factors can be the cause, such as improper use of the dishwasher or use too much dishwashing detergent.

  1. Salt and lemon
    Rub the inside of the glass with half a lemon. Apply some force, but be careful not to break the glass. Little by little the lemon will eliminate the limescale inside the glass.

Immediately afterwards, put a pinch of salt in the glass and spread it over the entire interior surface. Rub again with lemon to remove all the limescale. Once you’re done, wash the glass with water and a little dish soap and dry it well.
