Tips to avoid ruining them

A first mistake to avoid is cleaning the orchid roots protruding from the pot. Another important aspect is choosing the right soil. Orchids should never be exposed to direct sunlight. The temperature that an orchid needs varies between 18 and 20 degrees. It is also very important to avoid temperature fluctuations so as  not to ruin the orchids.

Watering is a fundamental aspect of an orchid’s survival. An  orchid’s substrate  generally consists of pine or fir bark, which gradually releases water.

Never leave water standing in the leaves, never wet the flowers, or leave the vase in standing water. The best way  to water an orchid  is from above or by submerging it in a basin.

The secret of many orchids

To understand whether an orchid can be salvaged and then propagated, it is enough to remove the outer part of the stem and check whether it is still green inside. Then just cut  the branch in two  , and with the help of a lighted candle you have to drip the wax into the two ends of the two branches. After applying the wax evenly, you need to wait for it to dry.

In the meantime, you must definitely   consume some fresh ginger , whose properties promote the germination of the orchid seedling. After slicing a piece of fresh ginger, you should store the pieces in a glass jar. After adding approx. 300 ml of hot water, the container must be closed and covered.  To create a nutritious ginger mixture for orchids  , the ginger should be left to steep for about 24 hours.

Using the filtered ginger mixture, the two orchid branches should be soaked for about half an hour. While the  stems are absorbing the mixture  , you need to take some moss that needs to be disinfected by simply letting it soak in the mixture for 30 minutes.

Then you need to take two plastic cups and make two holes in the bottom with a cutter. The  disinfected moss must then  be squeezed out and distributed on the bottom of the two glasses.  Place the two orchid stems  in the center of a glass with moss and moisten them with water.

Before the pot with the orchids  is placed in a dry place, the other plastic cup should be placed on the pot to seal it. Within three weeks, the small orchids will begin to grow with occasional spraying of water. Only after they have developed can the orchids be separated and planted in separate pots.
