How to take care of the laundry?
Discoloration, shrinkage, felting … Your clothes don’t deserve this fate! Here’s how to extend its duration.
Before the first wash
It passes through the (very) salty bath phase. Dip your cotton shirts (respecting the colors) in a cold water bowl with 4 handfuls of coarse salt.
Washing, the bases
Order your clothes color by color to prevent them from getting confused. Choose the cold wash program or at 30 ° C maximum. If you opt for hand washing, do it piece by piece.
Have your clothes rubbed?
You will be able to repair the damage with soda crystals. Dip the bleached shirt in 1 l of hot water and a cup of crystals for a day. If the stain is localized, rub with a baking soda paste and water, then leave on for installation before rinsing.
Storage of white fabric
To remain white, they must be protected from the light that makes them turn yellow. Feel free to store them in dark boxes or opaque drawers, away from direct light.
Preserve colored fabrics
To give a boost to your colorful clothes, add white vinegar to the water of the last rinse. Or use the latter as a fabric softener.
Preserveblack fabrics
Together and upside down, this is the right way to wash them.
Add white vinegar to the rinse water to fix the color and never iron them with the right side so as not to polish them. To restore intense darkness, wet your dark clothes in the cold cooking water of spinach (without spinach) before washing them.
Respect for forms
A wool sweater or a cotton sweater are not intended to deform…
For wool sweaters
Avoid the car. Proceed by hand in warm water with Marseille soap flakes. Wet them without rubbing or twisting them and rinse them abundantly, ending with a rinse with diluted white vinegar. Dry the flat wool sweaters between two terry towels.
