Damaged boxes become difficult to clean. In addition, they protect the food less tightly and transfer contaminants into the dishes. However, to be able to replace them, it is still necessary to recognize worn containers. Generally, a plastic box will fortunately develop signs of wear over time. This makes it easier to identify plastic boxes that you should be wary of. Here are these valuable clues.

1) The presence of wear at first glance

When you see large scratches, small cracks or chips , the watertightness of the container is no longer ensured . These seemingly minor defects can then allow external pathogenic bacteria to pass through more easily. Additionally, these visible abrasions pick up dirt more quickly and become more difficult to maintain. They should then be replaced.

2) In case of really persistent stains or odors

We have all already had to deal with plastic stained by tomato sauce or carrot puree. By following the good stain removal tips , nothing too worrying to deplore! The same goes for odors which can naturally linger, especially if forgotten for a long time. Again, you can always find ways to deodorize the box . However, problems with persistent odors or stains may indicate a problem with residual bacteria which can alter the taste of your food and increase the risk of cross-contamination. To avoid food poisoning, avoid putting too much pressure on the lifespan of your plastic boxes.
