What do silverfish hate?
Silverfish are found in many homes and have a preference for sugar and starch. They are good at hiding and can be difficult to spot.

Everyone has probably had first-hand experience with the little silver insects known as "silverfish." However, catching them can be a challenge as they are difficult to catch and those who have ever tried know this well.

Silverfish on the books
Lepisma saccharina feeds on sugars and starches found in various foods and materials commonly used in the home, such as paper, wood, glue, fabrics and trimmings, and the house therefore provides several opportunities for their development.
Their presence can be indicated by yellowish spots on fabrics and books, but they are harmless to humans because they do not sting, do not irritate, do not bite and are not toxic. However, if left unchecked, they can cause significant damage to books and valuables found in the home.
