How do we keep them away forever?
With simple gestures, it is possible to prevent rats and mice from invading your home. Here are some practical tips:
Install grids at the ends of the pipes. Also place them at the access windows to the basement.
Identify the openings and other cracks in your house through which rodents can enter. Then shovel these openings (e.g. with cement, or for a less drastic solution with steel wool or even an aluminium ball).
Make sure you put your food where rats cannot access it.
Your garbage bin should be tightly closed
Food should also be stored in hermetically sealed containers.
Avoid accumulating objects in the basement, cellar or attic. If there are too many of them, mice, moles, rats and voles settle there.
