Pour the resulting beverage into a 1.5-litre bottle, leaving some space for yeast activity. Do not fill the bottle to the neck.
Leave the bottle in direct sunlight for 3 to 4 hours to start fermentation. Then we put it in the refrigerator so that it cools.
Home-made kvas is medium-sweet, with pleasant foam and a refreshing taste. Thanks to the addition of chicory, kvas acquires a dark color and taste, very similar to the high-quality trading kvas, but without the use of burnt sugar.
