Griddle: How to clean the boiler and exterior surface
Iron maintenance should not be limited to cleaning the soleplate. You should also carefully clean the outer surface and the boiler.
The exterior of the appliance should be cleaned in the same way as the plate is polished. Prepare a vinegar and water solution and carefully wipe it over the exterior surface. Remove any traces of salt with a damp cloth and dry it with a dry cloth.
For the boiler, the procedure is different. You will have to fill half with water and the other half with vinegar. Turn on the iron and let the steam escape: this will remove the limescale from the boiler.
