Here’s how to deep clean all the floors in your home without spending a dime

If you have a granite, marble or stone floor and you want to use ecological and economical products, you can prepare a cleaner with these natural ingredients. You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of liquid Marseille soap
  • 2 liters of water

Pour the water into a bucket, then add the baking soda and Marseille soap. Mix everything and soak your mop in this preparation then pass it over the entire surface to be cleaned to remove dirt and  bad odors .

Please also note that it is  not recommended to use acidic products  such as vinegar, lemon or citric acid on natural stone, granite or marble surfaces, as this risks damaging them over time.

– Clean the tiled floor

Tiled floors can quickly become dirty and joints that darken over time look unsightly. To get rid of dirty tiles, use dishwashing liquid diluted in water and mop the entire surface.

To clean the joints, use baking soda which, moreover, is a powerful whitening product . To take advantage of its stripping powers, mix three parts sodium bicarbonate and one part water to obtain a consistent paste. Spread it on the joints using a brush and rub. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsing and wiping with a dry cloth.

– Clean the terracotta floor

Terracotta floors are very typical and give a warm and welcoming feel to a house. To properly maintain them, you need to find the right cleaners for this material. And for good reason,  this type of floor tends to particularly absorb dirt and  stains . To clean it, you will need the following ingredients:

  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons dish soap
  • A few drops of lemon essential oil
  • 2 liters of water

Mix all the ingredients in a bucket then dip a microfiber cloth in the solution and wipe it over the floor to clean and shine it. Dry the floor with another dry cloth.
