Like eggs, you shouldn’t store dairy products in refrigerator doors.
Eggs in supermarkets are often stored in refrigerators or air-conditioned rooms.
When we bring them home, we usually place them on the tray on the refrigerator door.
But that is not correct.
Eggs should be kept at a constant, low temperature.
The correct way to store eggs
If you decide to buy fresh eggs, make sure they are stored properly.
To prevent the eggs from spoiling too quickly, it is necessary to place them in the refrigerator.
They should go to a place with a stable and relatively low temperature, necessarily below 20 °C.
Unfortunately, the egg trays were unfortunately placed in the refrigerator door, where storage conditions are not ideal.
On the contrary, the shelves located in the doors are the warmest place in the refrigerator, which is also characterized by having a variable temperature.
This is due to opening the appliance and exposing it to the ambient temperature of the kitchen.
In such conditions, eggs can deteriorate very quickly.
These are not suitable conditions for any dairy product, nor for eggs.
Experts recommend leaving them on the central shelf.
At this point, it is worth mentioning that the safe storage time of the product is only 14 days.
It is therefore worth adapting the quantity purchased to the needs to avoid unpleasant surprises.
What else is worth knowing about egg storage?
Eggs should be stored away from aromatic products, such as cheeses or cooked dishes with a strong smell.
They should also be kept in an airtight container.
Placing the eggs one by one on the tray does not help them.
It is also a mistake to wash them before placing them in the refrigerator.
These are principles that we must follow if we want to maintain the freshness of the eggs.
