Many other foods complement this whole cabbage cooked in a slow cooker with garlic and parmesan. The buttery contrast with the savory roasted chicken makes it a delicious side dish. To make it more substantial, you may serve it with crusty bread pieces so the bread can absorb up all the delicious juices. As an additional bonus, it goes well with both hearty pot roasts and creamy mashed potatoes, so it's a flexible addition to any meal.
Garlic Parmesan Whole Cabbage Cooked in a Slow Cooker
Six servings What You Need:
1 cabbage, medium-sized
minced garlic four cloves
Parmesan cheese, half a cup grated
25% of a cup of melted butter
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Black pepper, half a teaspoon
Half a cup of chicken or veggie broth
a tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley
How to Follow
Remove any tough outer leaves from the cabbage and rinse it well under cold water. 1.
2. Carefully make a tiny incision in the center of the cabbage using a sharp knife to remove the core.
Step 3: In a little dish, mix the parmesan cheese, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
Be careful to rub some of the garlic Parmesan mixture into the cabbage's cavity as you rub it all over the cabbage's exterior.
5. Put the cabbage in the slow cooker and cover it with the chicken or vegetable broth.
6. Once the cabbage is soft, cover and simmer on low for about seven or eight hours.
Seven, once the cabbage is cooked, gently place it on a serving platter and, if you choose, garnish it with fresh parsley. For serving, cut into wedges.
