Growing mushrooms at home has never been easier, and you don’t need a garden or a lot of space to get started. All you need is a simple bucket and a few materials to begin cultivating your own mushrooms right from the comfort of your home.
What You’ll Need:
A clean plastic bucket (5-gallon works well)
Mushroom spawn (oyster mushrooms are great for beginners)
Straw or sawdust (as the growing medium)
A drill and a 1/2-inch drill bit
Water
A cool, dark space
Step-by-Step Guide:
Prepare the Bucket: Start by drilling several 1/2-inch holes around the sides of your bucket, spaced a few inches apart. These holes allow for airflow and give the mushrooms space to grow out of the bucket.
