So many of us forget to clean our makeup brushes regularly. And for that, the conditioner is incomparably effective. Apply a small amount to the bristles of your brushes to keep them clean and soft. Note that the trick works with all brushes, including paint brushes.
6. Softens cuticles
Without proper care, cuticles tend to harden, crack and turn into unsightly small skins. Hence the use of a good cuticle cream, like this one. But what to do if you don’t have cuticle cream? To replace it, try putting a little conditioner on stubborn cuticles. This will make them more flexible and elastic, and therefore much easier to push back.
7. Removes static electricity from hair
Rub some conditioner between your hands and apply it to your hair. This will weigh them down just enough to prevent static electricity from straightening them.
8. Smooth flyaways and frizz
It never fails… As soon as there’s a little humidity in the air, your hair starts to frizz! Note that conditioner also fights frizz. Use the same technique as mentioned previously for static electricity.
9. Replaces detangling spray
Do you have tangles all over your hair? In a spray bottle, mix 1 part conditioner and 9 parts water. Spray this mixture directly on your hair to easily detangle tangles. To make it easier, I recommend using a detangling comb and starting from the roots.
10. Deodorizes textiles
Now that you know the formula of the detangling spray… Know that it is also very effective for deodorizing textiles. Yes, the formula for making a DIY textile deodorizer is exactly the same as that of the detangling spray. Namely: 1 volume of conditioner for 9 volumes of water. Put this mixture into a spray and spray it on your upholstery, your curtains… and even your clothes! Try it and you’ll see: This spray eliminates odors and freshens hard-to-wash textiles.
11. Save sweaters that have shrunk
Did you wash your favorite sweater on hot, and now it has shrunk? Oops ! Fortunately, with this tip, you have a good chance of saving him. Mix 1 tablespoon of conditioner in a basin of water (but not too hot this time!) Soak the sweater in this mixture until the fibers relax. Lay it flat to dry. Then, stretch it regularly, and very delicately, until it returns to its initial shape. The full tutorial is here.
12. Prevents tools from rusting
With a cloth, polish your tools with a little conditioner. This is a great technique to keep them from rusting. Note that the trick works with all metal objects, including faucets.
