Prepare the Ingredients
If using whole cloves, add 1 tablespoon of cloves instead of the essential oil.
Crush the bay leaves lightly with your fingers to help release their natural oils.
Combine in a Pot
Add the water to a pot and bring it to a boil.
Add the cloves (or clove oil), baking soda, and crushed bay leaves. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes to let the ingredients infuse fully.
Cool and Strain
After simmering, allow the mixture to cool. Strain out the cloves and bay leaves, and pour the liquid into your spray bottle.
Add Clove Oil (Optional)
If you’re using clove essential oil instead of whole cloves, add 10-15 drops directly into the spray bottle once the mixture has cooled.
How to Use
Spray Around Entry Points: Spray this mixture around windows, doorways, and other common entry points for insects.
Focus on Problem Areas: Spray it in areas where you frequently see insects, such as under the sink, near garbage cans, and in the pantry.
