Remove the base plate to access the filter.
Place a rag or container under the drain pipe next to the filter to catch any water that may leak out.
Unscrew and remove the filter. Rinse it with lukewarm water, being careful not to deform it.
Clean the inside of the drain connection with a soft brush.
Replace the filter.
