How To Remove Ink Stains From Clothes

The alcohol in the hairspray is what takes the stain out, so make sure you are using a hairspray with alcohol. Check the ingredients on the hairspray to be sure. With the hairspray bottle, you can easily spray the stain out.

If you are buying hairspray just to remove the stain you can buy a cheap brand of hairspray. Usually, the cheaper the hairspray is the more alcohol it contains.

Removing The Ink With Hairspray
Start by putting a paper towel behind the ink stain on the clothes. This will keep the ink stain from soaking through to the other side when you spray it.

Then, start spraying a generous amount of hairspray on the stain. You may see the ink start to bleed and spread, that’s ok, it just means it is working.

Once you have saturated the stain with the hairspray just let it sit for about a minute. This will let the alcohol in the hairspray really soak into the stain.

Once it has set for a minute then spray the ink stain again with a little bit of hairspray.

Use a paper towel to gently blot at the stain to try to remove some of the ink making sure you don’t let the stain go through to the other side of the clothes.

Or if you have a soft toothbrush or laundry brush you can scrub it with that.
