By wrapping holiday lights around a pool noodle, you can create a unique, eye-catching wreath that will brighten up your entrance. Not only is it affordable, but it’s also a fun and easy way to add some festive cheer to your home.
Whether you want a classic, modern, or rustic vibe, this wreath can be styled to complement a wide range of interior and exterior design themes. For a timeless look, use warm white lights and add a red bow for a touch of elegance. If your home has a more modern aesthetic, opt for cool white or multicolored lights to add a pop of color and vibrancy. For a rustic or farmhouse style, consider incorporating natural elements like pinecones or holly. This wreath is versatile enough to hang on your front door, above a mantel, or even as a statement piece on an interior wall.
Materials
1 pool noodle (standard size)
1 string of holiday lights (battery-operated or plug-in, 50-100 lights)
Decorative ribbon or bow
Clear packing tape or duct tape
Scissors
Optional: pinecones, holly, ornaments, or other decorative accents
Directions
- Shape the Pool Noodle
Bend the pool noodle into a circular shape. Secure the ends together using clear packing tape or duct tape, ensuring the circle holds its shape firmly. - Wrap the Lights
Starting at one end of the pool noodle, begin wrapping the holiday lights around the noodle. Space the lights evenly as you wrap them around the entire circle. - Secure the Battery Pack or Plug
Once you’ve wrapped the lights, secure the battery pack or plug at the back of the wreath using tape. Make sure the pack is easily accessible for turning the lights on or off. - Add a Ribbon or Bow
Add a festive ribbon or bow to the top or bottom of the wreath for an extra decorative touch. You can secure it with tape or by tying it around the noodle. - Optional: Additional Decorations
For a more personalized touch, you can glue or tape pinecones, holly, or small ornaments onto the wreath. Feel free to get creative with your embellishments! - Hang the Wreath
Once your wreath is complete, hang it on your front door using a wreath hanger or a hook. If your lights are plug-in, make sure they’re connected to a power source; if they’re battery-operated, place the battery pack in a convenient spot.
