Whether metal or plastic, zippers have changed the way we dress or store things. The zipper was invented in the mid-19th century and has since been improved to become the almost perfect closure we have today.

This is certainly no coincidence. Although zippers are very useful, they can often get stuck or lose “teeth”, making it difficult to close.

There are many reasons why a zipper stops working and for each of these reasons we suggest a solution below.

Zipper leaks from the rails

Hold the zipper rails with pliers and at the same time open the side with a flathead screwdriver.

The opening you need to create should be small, just enough to pull back the leaked tooth.
