We have just seen the most complicated cases related to cleaning stainless steel tools.

Cases in which the pan is blackened, yellowed or even burnt and charred!

Apart from that, the maintenance of stainless steel is not difficult.

Whether it’s a Cristel, Sitram, Lagostina, Beka, de Buyer, Mauviel Tefal or other brands, stainless steel is easy to clean.

I will explain how to take care of it to keep your dishes in good condition for years.

1. Wash them with soapy water and a soft sponge

After cooking, it is important to immediately clean the stainless steel.

A simple washing with dishwashing detergent and a soft sponge is sufficient.

Stainless steel can be washed without problems even in the dishwasher.

What you should avoid is use the stroke side of sponges or abrasive powders.

Scratch the stainless steel.

Also, speaking of scratches, be careful not to use metal soup spoons.

2. Put enough oil or butter in the pan or in the saucepan

To prevent food residues from sticking to the pan, add enough fat (oil or butter) before cooking.

Cook over medium heat instead of high heat to control the temperature and reduce the risk of burning food.

If you use salt to season your dishes, avoid pouring it directly on the hot surface of the pan.

This can cause white spots.

3. Never use bleach to clean them

To clean the stainless steel pan, use mild and non-brasive cleaning products.

Aggressive chemical detergents can damage the surface of stainless steel.

For example, you should definitely not clean stainless steel with bleach.

If the stains persist, soak the pan in warm water and soap for 15 minutes.

Then gently rub with a non-abrasive sponge.

4. Dry the pan with a towel or over low heat

After washing, be sure to thoroughly dry the pan with a clean cloth.

You can also put it on low heat for a few moments.

This prevents the formation of water stains or corrosion.

Finally, when you store the stainless steel cookware, avoid stacking them one on top of the other without any protection.
