– Salt and lemon, an abrasive combination to clean bathtub stains
The combination of salt and lemon will not only dissolve mineral deposits in the tub, but you can also use it on all stained surfaces in the house. Mix coarse salt with a glass of lemon juice and then apply the mixture to the surface to be treated with a clean sponge. Leave it to act for a few minutes and then rub the stains. Finally, rinse with clean water and let it dry.
– Toothpaste to whiten the bathtub
You can also get rid of unsightly stains by using whitening toothpaste and a toothbrush. To do this, choose a gel-free toothpaste and then use an old toothbrush to scrub the yellowed surface.
– Stain the bathtub with white vinegar
If the above products have not given a satisfactory result, you can count on the disinfectant, abrasive and stain-removing power of white vinegar. Pour some on the stain and then use the rough side of a sponge to scrub. Alternatively, you can pour vinegar into a spray bottle and then spray the area directly. Let it sit for a moment and then wipe with a microfibre cloth or paper towel before rinsing. If it is tough stains you are dealing with, repeat the process until they are gone.
Since you most likely have baking soda, it would be a shame not to use it to give your bathtub a new lease of life. Make a mixture of 50 ml of warm water and two tablespoons of baking soda and then apply the paste to the area to be cleaned. After letting it sit for 15 minutes, scrub with a scouring pad and then rinse with clean water.
As for hydrogen peroxide, if you combine it with baking soda, the effect will be multiplied tenfold. Also, the principle is the same: mix 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide with 2 teaspoons of baking soda. As for the first case, apply the paste on the yellowed parts before leaving it to act for 15 minutes. Rub, rinse and finally let it dry.
