Why is defrosting necessary?
Sometimes it is necessary to defrost the freezer and refrigerator. And for good reason, if the formation of frost becomes excessive, the operation of these household appliances may be impaired. The frost then takes on the role of a real thermal insulator, causing a reduction in heat transfer between the air in the freezer and the refrigeration system. In addition, frost can force the household appliance to consume more energy and work much harder to reach the right temperature. Often, excess ice causes deterioration of the refrigerator and shortens its lifespan. In addition, a thick layer of frost can be harmful to the food stored in the appliance and reduces storage space. So, to save energy and keep your refrigerator and freezer intact, you must defrost and clean the appliances every three months.
