- Fill a bowl or glass with water: Make sure the water is cold.
- Gently lower the egg: Place the egg in the water.
- Observe:
- Fresh eggs: Sink to the bottom and lie flat on their side.
- Less fresh eggs: Sink to the bottom but stand on one end.
- Old eggs: Float to the surface.
