Hydrangeas are out of the race. This plant will delight butterflies and attract them to the garden.

Location: Plant the buddleia in a spot with direct access to sunlight. It can tolerate partial shade, but will prefer full sun to show off its intense colours.
Watering: Keep the soil slightly moist. Avoid overwatering to prevent the flowers from wilting. Overwatering is not advisable.

Soil preparation: Make sure the soil is well-drained, moderately fertile and enriched with compost at the time of planting. This will help the shrub to establish quickly.
