How to Remove Grease from Wood to Make it Like New

To do this trick to  remove grease from wood,  you need vegetable oil, baking soda, a toothbrush and a clean cloth.

  1. Mix one part vegetable oil with baking soda until you have a creamy solution.
  2. Use your toothbrush to apply the solution to the wood and scrub until the grease is removed.
  3. Wipe the surface with the clean cloth to remove grease and remaining solution.

The best products for degreasing wood:

  • White vinegar is   an effective solution for cleaning various types of surfaces. Dip a clean cloth in white vinegar and wipe down cabinets and other wooden surfaces. Rinse the cloth in warm water and wipe it again to remove any residue.
  • Baking  soda  is very effective at degreasing surfaces. Sprinkle a little baking soda on a damp sponge and rub it on oily wooden surfaces. Then wipe with a damp cloth.
