Absolutely do not bathe at these 4 times

3. Late Night Baths, Right Before Bed It’s generally recommended not to bathe after 10 p.m. or to go to bed immediately after a late bath. Bathing late at night can cause your blood vessels to constrict or dilate as your body works to regulate heat. This may increase the risk of high blood pressure or even stroke. Additionally, bathing too close to bedtime, especially with hot water, raises your body temperature, which can disrupt sleep. Your body naturally cools down to achieve the optimal temperature for sleep, which also promotes the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. To avoid disrupting this process, shower 1 to 2 hours before going to bed, and use water at a moderate temperature.
4. Right After Exercise After exercising, your body will have increased heart rate, blood pressure, and circulation. Bathing immediately after physical activity, particularly cold showers, can cause blood vessels to constrict suddenly, disrupting circulation and potentially leading to cardiovascular problems, including stroke. After exercise, your body also needs time to cool down and regulate its temperature naturally through sweating. Taking a bath too soon, especially a hot one, can interfere with this cooling process and increase stress on the cardiovascular system. It’s best to rest and allow your heart rate and body temperature to return to normal before bathing.
