However, there is one simple trick that will help you easily monitor whether the food in your fridge has spoiled during your vacation. Just put a coin in the freezer! Sounds weird? Ingredients:
1 coin (preferably silver, such as 1 złoty or 2 złoty)
1 container for water (e.g. cup, mug, bowl)
1 freezerDirections:
Preparation: Fill a cup or mug with water, then place it in the freezer to freeze completely.
Insert the coin: Once the water has frozen into a solid block of ice, place the coins on top. Make sure the coin is on top of the ice.
Freezer label: Leave the freezer as is while you’re away, before you go on vacation.
