A double life between blues and literature
While Hugh Laurie is known as an actor, few people know that he is also an accomplished musician . A blues enthusiast, he has released two albums , “Let Them Talk” in 2011 and “Didn’t It Rain” in 2013. His piano skills and gravelly voice have won over many fans, proving that he can shine well beyond the small screen.
But that’s not all: he’s also a writer! In 1996, he published a novel entitled Tout est sous contrôle , a thriller with biting humor that met with real critical success. Between music and writing, Laurie seems to be a real jack-of-all-trades, always looking for new challenges.

The dark side: between depression and doubts
Despite his success, Hugh Laurie often struggled with deep depression . He has said that while filming House, he was unable to feel excitement or pleasure , even in the face of life-changing events. This led him to seek counseling and therapy.
He partly combated this malaise with music and humor, two real outlets in his life. For him, self-mockery is an essential weapon for facing difficult times.
A man with astonishing passions
Off the set, Hugh Laurie is passionate about motorcycles , particularly Triumph Bonnevilles , which he collects with pleasure. He also has boundless admiration for the author PG Wodehouse , whose humorous novels have, according to him, “saved him more than once” .
Despite his immense success, Laurie remains true to himself: modest, discreet and always eager for new challenges . He may no longer wear Gregory House’s overalls, but his talent and fascinating personality continue to make him a key figure in the world of entertainment.
