Why insert the tab of a can into the TV?

  1. Create the main structure

Straighten the wire hanger or bend it into a “T” shape. Securely tape the two cans at each end. These cans will act as signal sensors.

  1. Modify the coaxial cable

Using pliers, make a small cut in the cable to expose the metal braid. Twist this braid and release the inner wire without damaging it.

  1. Connect the terminals

Attach one terminal to the inner wire and the other to the wire braid. Secure each connection with electrical tape to prevent shorting.

  1. Attach the terminals to the tabs on the cans

The tabs on the cans will serve as contact points to improve signal capture. Attach the crocodile clips to them.

Where to place your antenna for best results?

Position your antenna near a window or in a high place, such as a shelf or attic. This will help you get a stronger, more stable signal. Connect the cable to your TV, run a channel scan, and adjust the antenna if necessary.

Precautions and advice

This method, while convenient, remains a temporary and experimental solution. Make sure it complies with local telecommunications regulations before using it for an extended period of time.
