Before you can draw conclusions, you need to understand why your orchid shows signs of weakness. In their natural habitat, these exotic plants cling to trees and absorb moisture from the environment. Inside, inadequate maintenance can upset this balance. Excess water, lack of light or unsuitable substrate may weaken the plant to the point of becoming unrecognizable. But rest assured, not everything is lost.
Signs that an orchid is always fit to be saved
Don't just count on faded leaves. Instead, check:
Roots: Whether green or white and hard, your orchid is alive. If they are brown and soft, they are rotten and cut.
Trunk (or pseudobulb): If it is still firm and not empty, the plant can be saved.
Sleeping budding: sometimes invisible to the naked eye, they can wake up if the environment is favourable.
If your orchid shows these signs of life, follow the steps below to revive it.
