Vaping: study reveals fatal side effects – heart disease, organ failure, dementia

First results of concern

British researchers conducted a study of three groups of participants: smokers, vapings and non-smokers. Tests revealed signs of vascular damage in vaporists, similar to those observed in smokers. Among the findings are an alteration of blood flow and less elastic arterial walls, two factors that may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.

“We thought vaping was a safer alternative. Today, we have to admit that it may not be as harmless as we thought,” the researchers say.

A controversial study

But these results are also highly critical. Some experts point to the fact that the study is not yet published in a scientific journal and that the sample of participants is very limited. “Family comparing the risks of vaping with tobacco based on a small group of volunteers is premature,” say several experts.

Others point out that the main cause of tobacco-related diseases is combustion: “Tobacco kills thousands of people every year. If vaping helps to stop smoking, then it is of interest,” says a doctor who specializes in addiction.
