Waiting for hours that your dry laundry can be frustrating, especially when you are squeezed or the ambient humidity slows down. However, there are simple and accessible methods for accelerating drying, without the use of an energy-intensive dryer. Whether you live in an apartment without a balcony, or the weather is not on your side, here are some effective tips for drying your laundry in just 2 hours.
-
Optimize spin-drying as soon as you are washed

A poorly dried linen will necessarily take longer to dry. If you are using a washing machine, consider programming high-speed wiping (at least 1200 rpm for cotton and strong textiles). Less water retained means faster drying.
No machine? Don’t panic. For manual spin-drying, wrap your clothes in a clean towel and press firmly. The towel will absorb excess moisture, thereby speeding up the process.

The absorbent napkin method: a true drying accelerator

Do you have a garment that you have to wear quickly? Try this trick:
- Place your wet linen flat on a large dry towel.
- Roll the towel with the laundry inside, like a roller.
- Press firmly to absorb as much water as possible.
- Unroll and extend your garment immediately to complete the drying.
This method is particularly effective for thick fabrics such as jeans or towels.
-
Increase air circulation with a fan

Moving air is an excellent ally for rapid drying. For an optimal result:
- Use a fan: place it in front of your laundry to speed up evaporation of moisture.
- Create a stream of air: open two opposite windows to promote the natural flow of air.
- Avoid wet rooms: focus on a dry, ventilated place, away from bathrooms or kitchens.
If you have a dehumidifier, place it in the room to absorb excess moisture and speed up drying.
