A trick to get rid of mold and peeled paint on the walls: it's easy, cheap and any house can do it

Safety first: Wear gloves and a mask to protect yourself from harmful traces during this delicate cleaning process.

How can painting be prevented from flapping?

The first thing to do is to check if there are leaks, cracks, old paint and the quality of ventilation in your home. You will probably have to repaint to improve the situation, but the problem may be repeated if you do not tackle the problems mentioned first. If you can solve these problems, you can prepare your house for a new coat of paint.

Paining GRANter
Take as much old flaked paint as possible with a paint scraper so that the underlying surface is clean when applying the new paint. If you do not, loose paint particles may penetrate under the new coat of paint. This affects the quality of the finish and may start to peel off in a short time.

The use of a paint scraper can take a long time, but it is worth it. You then remove all the peeled paint and you can be sure to start with a clean surface. If you cannot remove all the paint underneath, remove the areas that are flapping and clean the rest with sugar soap to make the surface as clean as possible.

CHOOSE A GOOD QUALITY PAINT
Don't waste your time on cheap, low-quality paint. Although you may like the low purchase price at the beginning, you will probably find that the finishing of the paint is not to your liking and will age much faster than with a superior alternative.

There are special paints available from many well-known brands that are also resistant to mould and mildew. This type of paint is a good option because the finish has a slight shine, which allows moisture to flow freely instead of adhering to the paint and impregnating, as may be the case with matt paint.

For better results, it may be necessary to apply several layers. If this is the case, make sure that the paint has enough time to dry before applying the new coat. The manufacturer will give you instructions, but always be a little careful with your bathroom and take a little more time than the manufacturer recommends.

Another common reason for the flaking of the paint is that the previous coat is not properly dried before applying the next layer. So take your time when it comes to an important area like a damp bathroom and don’t be tempted to precipitate the work.
