Alexandre Brasseur reacts to comparisons with his father Claude Brasseur
Alexandre Brasseur mentions his career and the challenges related to his name. “I have always been fighting this fight. That's probably why I hate the expression 'son of'. I prefer to say that I am a child of the caravan,” he says. This sense of constant proof of merit is linked to his family. “When you have an ancestry like mine, you sooner or later wonder about your place,” he admits. Alexandre Brasseur chose not to cogitate on the issue. "But even outside this microcosm, it seems to me that we are all confronted one day with this issue. It is universal. The most important thing is to get rid of them so as not to get involved,” he says. He assures that it is through his work that he has been able to detach himself from this legacy. “I hold this from my father, who was also crossed by this question of legitimacy and passed on to me rigour,” he adds. Today, the actor assures her: “I and I alone are leading my boat.”

Alexandre Brasseur is the father of two children, Louis and Jeanne, from a previous marriage. The father of the family has returned to his children, and their choice of life very different from their father, grandfather and great-grandfather: “My son Louis works in restaurants abroad,” he says. As for her daughter, “Jeanne, my daughter, is a literary, passionate photography, bilingual. At the age of 23, she graduated from Concordia University in Montreal. His training is solid.” He says he is not disappointed that his children have not chosen the same artistic path as him: "If they are happy, it suits me," he says, before adding: "So much for what's called the dynasty. It's all wind."
