Planting tomatoes can be a simple task, but getting healthy and abundant fruit, you need to follow some essential tips. Here is a detailed guide to maximize your chances of success when planting your tomatoes.

Preparation of tomato plants
Often, tomato plants are in poor condition before planting, which can endanger the health of your future harvests. The first step is to soak the tomato roots in the water before planting them. This hydrates the roots and prepares them to absorb water from the soil better.

To go further, add a spoonful of sugar to this water. Sugar helps plants recover more quickly and be ready for transplantation.

Planting tomatoes in depth
Another important piece of advice is to plant your tomatoes quite thoroughly. Dig a hole about 25 to 30 cm deep so that two-thirds of the plant is underground. The roots of the tomatoes grow on the stem where it is in contact with the soil. Therefore, the more stems there are underground, the larger and more robust the root of the plant.

Use of organic fertilisers
Before planting your tomatoes, it is recommended to add an organic granule fertilizer to each hole. But that is not all. I add a spoonful of egg shell powder in each hole, which is extremely beneficial for tomatoes.

Preparation of egg shell powder
When preparing scrambled eggs, do not throw away the shells. Wash them well to remove any residue that could promote the development of bacteria, and then let the shells dry.
