The fuel tell-tale that lights up on the dashboard may cause concern. How many kilometers can you still drive before the dry breakdown? Where is the nearest service station? The answer depends on the model of your car and the way you drive. But don't panic, even with an almost empty tank, you can optimize your consumption to reach the nearest station.
How much gasoline is left in reserve?
Most vehicles retain a fuel reserve of between 5 and 10 litres after activation of the tell-tale. This quantity varies according to the car model.
With this reserve, a vehicle can generally travel between 50 and 70 km on average, or even 100 km on motorways for the most economical models. However, the actual distance depends on several factors: terrain, traffic, vehicle load and driving style.
