A Chinese airliner Hainan Airlines was forced to turn around a few minutes after taking off. The reason? The aircraft hit a bird, causing a problem in the Boeing's right engine.
Big scar on board. On Sunday, 10 November, passengers on a Boeing from the Chinese airline Hainan Airlines were shook. Shortly after taking off from Rome Fiumicino airport, the plane had to return to its original 'port'. Worried? A motor problem tells us Le Parisien. The 249 passengers and the sixteen crew members were not injured and were able to disembark without difficulty. But not in Shenzhen, China, as originally planned.
The daily newspaper in Ile reports that the aircraft had to drop fuel over the sea. The Boeing 787 would actually have hit a bird. While the event is far from exceptional, it can be particularly dangerous. Sylvain Lejal, Orly’s biodiversity referent, told AFP in April 2023 that “the animal collision is the second risk of a major accident for an aircraft”. A bird can thus be sucked up by the reactors and cause the engine to stop. In addition, if the bird hits the windshield, the pilots may be injured.
