Technique for pluning any branch (with 1 ingredient only)

Raising branches is an essential step for any gardening enthusiast seeking to spread its plants without spending on seedlings. This simple and economical method makes it possible to succeed in rooting almost all branches, be they lemons, orange trees, fig trees or even mints. With precise instructions and a single key ingredient, you can make sure that your branches take root effectively.

Preparation of the Components
The first step is to gather the right components to ensure successful rooting. Two main elements are needed:

Earth: You can use different types of land, such as topsoil or black. However, avoid clay soil, as it retains too much water and prevents good drainage. Moreover, it is essential that the soil is devoid of fertilizer, as this could jeopardise the process of rooting.
Sand: The indispensable ingredient of this method is ordinary construction sand. This sand, combined with the earth, will create the ideal substrate for the branches.
The mixture consists of equal parts of soil and sand: 50% of each. It is essential to mix these two components well in order to obtain a homogeneous texture, ready to accommodate the branches.

Preparation of the Branches
Once the substrate is ready, it is time to prepare the branches to be rooted. The secret of this method lies in the way in which the base of the branches is cut: a slant cut. This type of cut, made diagonally, allows the branch to absorb more water, which accelerates and facilitates rooting. This trick is particularly effective for plants such as mint, rosemary or actinidia (kiwi), which naturally take root well.
