- Humidity affects health, especially for asthmatics
For people with asthma, moisture can be a dangerous factor that can cause breathing difficulties. As reported on the health site, Medisite, if inhalation of spores with mould is not dangerous, it is another for people with asthma and those with breathing problems.
- Moisture may lead to lung infection
Apart from those most at risk, such as those with asthma, moisture can cause allergies as well as lung diseases. In much rarer but no less noticeable cases, this can lead to a lung infection that can be fatal.
David Denning, Professor of Medicine and Mycology and Director of the Manchester National Aspergillosis Center, said that “every year, several patients go through intensive care because of these types of infections. It is therefore important to know the dangers of humidity.
Other risks related to drying laundry at home
– The feeling of cold in winter: The cold is felt more in a humid air environment. Therefore, this could lead some people to increase the heating temperature.
– Bad odours: Persistent eating or moisture odour
– Feeling tired or headache
– The spread of dust mites
– Rust of metal objects. Please note that this can be removed with lemon and salt.
– Condensation may appear on the windows and corners of the walls
What if you have to dry your wet clothes inside?
In this case, certain measures must be complied with in order to limit as much as possible the risks of drying inside:
Your clothes, towels and sheets should be spaced in your rack for better air circulation between textiles. Do not hesitate to remove dry laundry to improve ventilation.
