Why is this worrying?
A hotel that neglects to maintain its plumbing may also fail to properly wash sheets, towels, or filter the air conditioning . Before you put your belongings down, check:
Faucets and shower : excessive limescale, hair or mold ? Bad sign.
The shower head : if it is clogged with impurities, this often means poorly maintained pipes .
Good reflex : slightly unscrew the shower head (without forcing) to see if it contains deposits. A dirty interior is a warning signal : it is better to find another hotel.
A hidden camera: your privacy at risk
The idea of a hidden camera filming a hotel room is scary, but the risk is real . Some malicious individuals install discreet devices to spy on guests without their knowledge .
How to detect these cameras?
Before you turn on the lights or insert your power board, take a few minutes to examine the room:
Check electrical outlets, smoke detectors, televisions and bedside lamps .
A small red light or infrared light in an unusual location can be a suspicious clue .
Effective tip : Use your phone’s flashlight to scan the room. If a small, strange light reflection appears inside a suspicious object, it could be a camera lens .
