Place the chicken drumsticks in the slow cooker.
In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey and garlic sliced until the whole is well mixed.
Pour the mixture of sauce over the chicken drums, ensuring that they are evenly coated.
Cover the simmer and cook on low heat for 6 to 7 hours or over high heat for 3 to 4 hours until the chicken is tender and well cooked.
Once cooked, take the chicken out of the simmer and place it on a serving dish.
Optional: To thicken the sauce, transfer it to a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until it reaches the desired consistency. Pour the thickened sauce over the chicken before serving.
For a spicy touch, add a teaspoon of red chilli flakes to the sauce mixture. If you prefer an acidulated flavor, incorporate two tablespoons of rice vinegar. You can also replace the drumsticks with chicken legs if you prefer another cup of meat. For a gluten-free version, use tamarind instead of soy sauce. Experiment by adding fresh ginger or some sesame oil for more flavor depth.
