How to Disinfect an Object Fallen in the Dirty Toilet

Method1

Retrieve and rinse the object falling

  1. Step 1 Portez une paire de gants en caoutchouc.
In case you have dropped something in the bowls of your toilet, be ready to use a pair of rubber gloves to be reached at hand. Before you dive your hands into the pots full of germs, you will have to wear them to make the task more bearable. If you are not at home or do not have gloves, you will have to ask yourself whether it is worth doing so with your bare hands. (1)

    • Do not flush the flush if the object is too large to pass through the toilet pipes, otherwise you will have to deal with a much worse situation.
    • If you do not have gloves, you can use another tool, such as toilet paper or a reverse plastic bag, to protect your hand from the dirt into which your object has fallen.
    • If you can’t stand the idea of getting your hands dirty, know that you can retrieve certain items, such as jewelry or keys, with a metal hanger folded like a hook.
    • Step 2 Soyez rapide.
Whether you wear gloves or not, try to reduce as much as possible the time your hands pass through the dirty water in the toilet. With a quick movement, lower your hand in the toilet, grab your item and quickly pull it out and hold your hand over the toilet so that the excess water flows into the bowl. Because toilets are a place where all kinds of viruses and bacteria accumulate, the less you expose yourself, the better.

      • However, hold the object firmly so that it does not fall again, because if it slides deeper inside, you may lose it forever.
    • Step 3 Rincez votre objet à l’eau courante chaude s’il n’est pas électronique.
As long as it is not an electronic item, such as a remote control or a telephone, you will have to remove as much water as possible from the toilet from your object by rinsing it with the tap water that is as hot as possible. If you have soap nearby, foam it to wash immediately. Once you have finished, turn it under the running water so that it reaches all sides.continued on the next page
