How to Disinfect an Object Fallen in the Dirty Toilet

  • This method is ideal for deep disinfecting compact solid objects that do not break easily, such as combs, toothbrushes, containers used for drinking and any other plastic or glass articles.
  • Step 2 Placez l’objet dans la casserole.
Put it in boiling water using a pair of kitchen clamps and let it soak for 1 to 20 minutes, depending on its size and the material it is made of. This is because prolonged exposure to heat can deform it. Move it from time to time into the water to remove the germs that have concentrated on the surface [14——

    • Be sure to protect your hands from the heat. From this perspective, you could wear rubber gloves or kitchen gloves even if you use a clamp.
    • Leaving plastic or delicate metal objects in boiling water for too long may melt them.
      • Step 3 Mettez l’article de côté pour qu’il sèche.
Take it out of the saucepan and shake it a little to remove excess water. After that, wrap it in a clean, dry cloth, and then expose it to the air. After the remaining moisture evaporates, your object should be like new.

        • If the object has a lid, remove it to expose it to air to avoid the formation of mould inside.

      Advice

      • Pay attention to objects when you are near an open toilet. It is always better to avoid such problems.
      • Close the toilet water taps to prevent the object from being accidentally or further removed deep into the pipes.
      • If you have an open cut or blister on your hands, wear gloves or any other equipment to protect yourself.
      • If the object has fallen by the time you just used the toilet, this does not mean that you have lost it forever. Urine and excreta are not unpleasant, but they will not kill you. Just make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after removing your item.
      • If you have lost an item in a public bathroom and you do not have the courage to take it, call the keeper.

      Warnings

      • If an item has fallen into the toilet or has been treated with potentially toxic disinfectants, avoid placing it in or near your mouth.
      • When handling articles that have been in contact with human waste, there is always a risk of developing an infection with salmonella, E. coli, hepatitis virus and many other pathogens. Wash your hands as often before, during and after the disinfection process.
