1. A poorly regulated temperature: the invisible enemy

If your refrigerator leaks, the first thing to check is the internal temperature. A defective or poorly regulated thermostat may cause excessive condensation. Result? Water accumulates and eventually escapes on the ground.
Solution: Check the temperature of your appliance. It must be between 4 and 5 degrees Celsius. If it is too low, the humidity increases, promoting the appearance of stagnant water.
2. A forgotten water tank

Did you know that your refrigerator has a hidden water tank at the back? This tank is used to collect the condensation. But if it is full, poorly positioned, or damaged, water can start to leak.
Solution: Regularly clean this tray and make sure it is in place. A simple sponge can sometimes prevent a big leak.
3. 3. A clogged pipe: the mistake that everyone makes
An obstructed drain
At the bottom of your refrigerator is a small drain hole. Over time, the latter may become clogged because of crumbs, dust or even frost. Result? The water no longer evacuates and eventually accumulates, overflowing inside the device or on the ground.
Solution: Use a soft thread or a pipe cure to gently unblock this duct. A mixture of hot water and white vinegar can also dissolve small residues.
4. A blocked valve: a detail that no one notices

Under the refrigerator, near the recovery bin, is a small rubber valve. If it is blocked or worn out, the water can no longer flow properly. This is an often unrecognized problem that can lead to recurrent leaks.
Solution: This part is difficult to handle. If you suspect a problem at this level, it is better to use a technician to avoid damaging other components.
