Differences depending on type
Usually, the filter located under the housing of the machine is intended for front-loading washing machines. In top-loading machines, the sediment filter is in the form of a plastic bag or tray that is located directly in the washing drum.

Frequency
To ensure that the filter remains clean, you must clean the dirt filter in the washing machine at least every 3 months.

Easy method for cleaning the washing machine

For modern machines, you can easily choose the self-cleaning mode of the machine. Select this mode and the machine will automatically adjust the amount of water, temperature and cleaning time of the drum.
If the machine does not have this mode, choose a regular washing cycle (without putting any clothes in the machine). To clean the drum, use commercial drum cleaning pellets/powders or replace them with vinegar.
When cleaning the drum, also pay attention to the rubber seal on the door of the washing machine (for front loading surfaces). Clean this room to make sure all the dirt is removed.
