While it is true that it is true that take care of a jade tree is very simple, let’s remember that plant has its secrets to grow healthy and.

That is why we are going to tell you how to care for the jade tree, so that you can have one and fill your home with life and harmony.

Jade Tree Plant Care

Jade trees are one of the easiest succulents to care for, there are certain details that are necessary to take into account for this tree to develop properly.

The care of the jade tree in a pot or direct soil will always be the same. If you ever wondered how to care for a jade plant correctly, we will tell you 5 fundamental care to take into account:

1- Light

Light is an essential element for the growth of this plant, it can be direct or semi-direct light but it should not be.

The difference of exposing it to the sun will quickly become noticeable, if its exposed leaves will become bright light green and with reddish edges. If it does not receive direct light and is in semi-shade, its leaves will become shiny but of an intense dark green color.

So when we are looking for the ideal place to place it, we advise you to place it near a window or directly outside. However, if we have it outside, we must be careful to have it at exposed peak times, when the sun is stronger, since we run the risk of its lead burning.

2- Watering

Like any succulent, this beautiful little tree does not require much watering. Remember that its leaves are fleshy because it accumulateurs water in them.

So it needs sporadic watering, if we water it in winter for 15 to 20 days and in summer 1 time a week, it will be more than fine.

We must be very careful not over todo it with the water, its roots are susceptible to constant humidity, running the risk of rotting. Many recommend watering it with a sprayer, but we do not recommend it since we may not be able to give it the amount of water necessary to survive.

It is always key to pay attention to the texture of the leaf, if we feel it soft it is because it needs and if we watered it recent and we feel it way, it is because we are watering it very often.

3- Substrate

The soil is another of the fundamental points to take into account. This is a plant that requires very good drainage since, as we mentioned before, its roots are very delicate and susceptible to waterlogging.

The substrate for a jade tree must be porous, so it must contain a mixture of sand, worm castings, volcanic perlite and garden soil among others. These are fundamental ingredients, which should never be missing from a succulent.

A fertilizer 2 times a year is essential, it will give it the necessary nutrients for its flowering, we can do it when stem and begin the race of summer. In this way, our jade tree will grow large and beautiful with abundant and shiny leaves.

4- Pruning

Pruning is essential for these small trees, as it stimulates their development. By removing the stems and leaves that are useless, the tree’s energy will not be wasted and will only be concentrated on healthy stems and leaves.

By removing stems, diseased or dry leaves, we can also maintain their shape. When we do so, the elements we are going to use must be sterilized. To the small stems, we will also remove them and put them in soil to make new plants.

5- Reproduction

All succulents are very easy to reproduce, we can quickly have a new plant, either to have in our home or to give to someone.

These succulents can reproduced either by leaf or directly by stem. Personally, I still do it by stem, when we remove the stem from the mother plant we put it directly in the ground. After a days few the leaves start to get soft, but don't panic.

Little by little, we will see that our sapling will take root, we will notice by the new leaves will begin to appear. When our new plant is in this process, it needs to be watered more frequently.

And this is how we can have a vigorous jade tree, as we have seen its care is simple. Having a beautiful plant like this is possible, if we always keep tips in mind.
