Spiders: less dangerous than some other insects
Spiders living in France pose virtually no danger to man. In comparison, every year about 15 people die in the country as a result of wasp bites, bees or hornets. No spider bite caused death. Fear of spiders is therefore largely unfounded about the health risks they pose.
Why avoid releasing spiders into the wild?
Some are tempted to move the spiders found in their house to get them out. However, for some species, this decision could be fatal. Household spiders are often adapted to specific living conditions and do not always survive outside. Some of them are no longer in nature and live only in human homes.
If your presence bothers you, rather than killing them or putting them out, it is better to move them to a place in the house like the garage or the cellar, where they can continue to play their part without invading your living space.
